We are fed up with the threat of paedophiles having the protection of the law as they do at present. We demand that you allow the public the fundamental right to feel protected and safe. The government has a duty to afford this to us and are currently failing spectacularly in this by allowing Paedophiles to integrate freely and anonymously in our neighbourhoods. We can legally have ASBOS publicised and are made aware of petty criminals who may damage our cars and windows, but when it comes to protecting the most precious thing that we all have we are forced to live in ignorance and danger. Sarah's Law Proposals 1 In appropriate cases this access should be also given to responsible members of the public who have a responsibility for the care of children. 2 3 4 Empowering victims of sex abuse 1 When passing sentence, courts should have the power to prevent offenders contacting or living near their victims. The orders would be made on the basis of representations made by the victim.
2 3 Making prevention more effective 1 The existing police vetting arrangements for people intending to work with children should be extended to cover all voluntary organisations. The government should make funds available to allow voluntary organisations to apply for the vetting information free of charge.
2 Require registration to be made within 72 hours of release from custody.
Require registration to be made in person at designated police stations.
The offender should be required to have his or her photograph taken for identification purposes at the time of registration and at any other reasonable time when his or her appearance has changed.
The re-registration of offenders should take place at pre-determined intervals.
The penalty for failing to comply with the register should be increased from six months to five years' imprisonment.
Offenders should be required to notify foreign travel. 3 Sex Offenders Orders should be extended to enable high-risk offenders who fall outside the current sex offender registration requirement to be included in the register.4 Sex Offenders Orders should be revised to enable the police to make greater use of them as a pro-active tool.5 It is every victim's right to understand the sentence imposed by the court. Victims have a right to know what period in custody the offender will actually serve.6 Sex offenders should be subject to a risk-assessment process at the time of their sentence by the court and indeterminate sentences be imposed in appropriate cases.7 Where an offender is assessed as suffering from severe personality disorder, and as a consequence poses a significant threat to children, he or she should be detained in secure accommodation.Parents to see sex crime records! Parents will get the right to ask for details about people who are in regular contact with their children, following a review of information on paedophiles. The right to ask for information on an individual is expected to extend to parents, guardians and carers. A campaign for a 'Sarah's Law' was launched after Sarah Payne was murdered by Roy Whiting. Megan's Law was named after seven-year-old Megan Kanka who was killed by convicted sex offender Jesse Timmendequas in New Jersey in 1994. The American law gives people access to names and addresses of known paedophiles. A Home Office spokesman said: "Public protection and the safety of our children is paramount. "The changes we are proposing will further strengthen the safeguards we have to make sure that child sex offenders can't harm our children. "For the first time there will be circumstances where members of the public will have the right to request details of possible sex offenders who may have contact with their children. "The plans have been worked up in consultation with many children's charities and organisations and strike the right balance to maximise child safety." Although Sara Payne says this offering from John Reid is a step forward, we see it as a watered down "peace offering" . For a few years now Maz and I have been trying to find my daughter whom I have never seen. In November 2006 we found her on Friends Reunited. After many emails and ads on sites in Bristol we found out she was married.So we emailed the registary office in Bristol and got a copy of her marrage certificate,which gave us an address to write to which we did about 1 week be for Christmas.
On the 22 December 2006 Elizaberth rang Maz's home Phone.It turned out she had been looking for me as well.Also I found out I was a Grandad and had been for 3 years to a grand daughter called Kimberly.Over Christmas we rang each other and 0n the 30 December we drove to Bristol to pick up Liz Kimberly and Mike Liz's Husband to come and see the New Year in with us.
I cannot say how great its is to have found Liz but I could not have asked for to have turned out any better than she has. I am so proud of her and the way she is.This was the best Christmas and new year I have ever had in many year.

My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch, in between errands it was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month-old daughter, and she was clean. The realized that Danny had not asked to go potty in a while. I asked him if he needed to go, and he said "No". I kept thinking "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have any clothes with me." Then I said, "Danny, are you SURE you didn't have an accident?" "No," he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident, because the smell was getting worse. Soooooo, I asked one more time, "Danny did you have an accident? This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, bent over, spread his cheeks and yelled "SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS!!" While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down. An old couple made me feel better, thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had! LAST BUT NOT LEAST TESTIMONY: This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any! We had a female news anchor that, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: "So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard! Now, didn't that feel good? Pass it on to someone you know who needs a laugh and remember we all say things we don't really mean, so think before you speak October 04 New rules to come for HGV drivers.A new qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers ‑ the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) ‑ has been given the go‑ahead by the Govern* ment. This means that, in future, holding just a vocational driving licence will not be sufficient.
C.PC will enable young people to enter these sectors in a safe and professional manner from the age of 18 for lorry and bus drivers and the age of 20 for coach drivers (subject to any licence restrictions flor Category D drivers).
When will CPC be introduced?
The qualification will be introduced in September 20G8 for bus and coach drivers and September 2009 for lorry drivers. Evidence that a driver has achieved CPC
will be shown by a cide on their vocational driving licence, or a Separate driver qualification card. The penalties for noncompliance will be the same as driving without a licence and will be enforced from day one. The Driver CPC relates to professional drivers. Non‑professional drivers will be exempted.
How to get the certificate
To minimise cost and inconvenience, the Driving St andards Agency (DSA) will offer new entrants to professional driving the opportunity to acquire the CPC at the same time as they obtain their vocational driving licence. Existing professional drivers will gain their initial CPC by acquired rights. All drivers will have to keep their certificate valid by completing 35 hours of periodic

training every five years. You won't have to take an additional test.
What's next?
The tests for the initial qualification are currently being developed and the DSA has invited industry experts to work with them. This will ensure that the new assessments meet the needs of their industries.

Planet Vid = more fun stuff.(beware some adult stuff) The most beautiful Norman Cathedral in EnglandThe most beautiful Norman Cathedral in England The Cathedral Church in Peterborough is dedicated to St Peter, St Paul and St Andrew. A monastic church was founded here by King Peada in 655 AD, destroyed by the Danes in 870, rebuilt as part of a Benedictine Abbey and re-consecrated in 972, burned down in an accidental fire in 1116 and re-built in its present form between 1118 and 1238. The porch was added about 1380, the eastern extension around 1500 and the central tower was re-built in the mid 1300's and again in the 1880's. In 1539 the monastery was closed by Henry VIII, but 18 months later in 1541, the church became the Cathedral of the new Diocese of Peterborough, with the last abbot as the new bishop, and Peterborough became a city. In the Civil War much damage was done to the Cathedral by Cromwell's troops, and the Lady Chapel, Chapter House and Cloister were destroyed; only fragments of the stained glass windows were saved and these were later pieced together to form the apse windows. The choir stalls, bishop's throne, marble floor and high altar were all created by the Victorian architect Pearson after the tower had been re-built. In the 1960's new figures were added to the West Front and in the 1970's the spectacular hanging cross was added to the Nave. Since the disastrous fire of November 2001 a massive cleaning and restoration programme has been undertaken, but there is still an expensive and endless task remaining to maintain the building and fulfil its purpose. The Cathedral is still the seat of the Bishop of Peterborough, as it has been since the Diocese was created in 1541. Worship, enhanced and supported by a long choral tradition, still takes place every day (see service times). The Cathedral is used for many functions including exhibitions, concerts and school outings. There is a permanent exhibition depicting the life of the Cathedral and the daily life of a Benedictine monk. There are also working scale models of how the Cathedral was constructed.
